CAPIO · Cardiovascular Assessment, Prevention,
and Intervention Organization

Prevent when you can.
Act when it matters most.

CAPIO is a student-led initiative across four Quebec universities, bringing rigorous assessment, real prevention, and timely intervention across the province.

Our missionCAPIO emblem

A heart-healthy Quebec, built by the people training to care for it.

In Latin, Capio means "to take initiative, to seize".
CAPIO aims to empower the youth and adults understand their cardiovascular risk, promote prevention through education & awareness, teach quick recognition of the warning signs of a heart attack, and equip communities to act confidently in critical moments where every second counts.

P

Prevention

Plain-language education, follow-up calls, and a referral network so that risk identified at a screening doesn't become a hospital admission five years later.
